On Saturday we have HEALTHbeat, which takes an holistic view of issues concerning health and well-being. This week the foreign press has been reporting on the alarming growth in child sex abuse cases that are occurring in Zimbabwe. Paediatrician Dr Bob Choto works at the Family Support Trust Clinic, which is attached to Harare hospital, and he says that at their clinic alone they have seen over 70 000 young victims over the past 10 years and he says that figure is just ‘the tip of the iceberg.’ Dr Choto talks about this very disturbing trend, and discusses why he thinks these cases are on the rise.
