Alex highlights the deaths of eleven people in south Sudan’s troubled Jonglei state, after clashes between two rival ethnic groups erupted on Wednesday. She also looks at mounting pressure from human rights groups to have an invitation to the President of Gambia, to attend the upcoming meeting of Commonwealth leaders, withdrawn. In September the Gambian head announced that he would ‘kill human rights defenders.’ Finally, Alex examines concerns in South Africa about the ‘trigger-happy’ police force, after a three year child was shot and killed..
