We are still getting reports on the alarming growth in child sex abuse cases in Zimbabwe. Now a multi-media awareness campaign on child protection has been launched by an organisation called Children First, in partnership with Population Services International and USAID. The campaign features a weekly radio drama, broadcast on ZBC, that highlights the rights and protection of children, with plans to extend the audience to students through ‘listener groups’ in schools and communities. We speak to Colin Marawanyika who is in charge of the Orphans and Vulnerable Children programme at USAID, and Peter Halpert, their Director of Health and Education.
